the studio I painted in. I had no t.v., no internet connection and my phone didn't work.
But I found a little radio and I listened to French pop music and news.

This is the front of the Chateau and Animal Sanctuary with these tall yellow Irises that were in bloom.
The original foundation of the Chateau was made around 900 A.D. and is influenced by the Romans.

Jenny & Pinnochio

JennypinnochioI was having a really bad day and I received this picture of rescued donkeys Jenny and Pinnochio. I said I wish they were near by so I could bring them apples and whatever else little donkeys like. I thought they were here in the states at Michelle's Animal Sanctuary but they are in France.  Aren't they cute!  The little one looks so sad.  They remind me of awesome artist Katherine Dunn's, Donkey Dreams project.

Bonjour! Quelles sont tes fleurs preferees ?

717 Ummm.....I am going to France in May for a month to stay at Chateau L'Hesperit in the south of France. It has not completely sunk in but it is slowly becoming reality and I owe it all to my very own very young fairy godmother.

203One day quite a while ago I read this e-mail from one of my buyers. All I remember is  reading something about her mom has a chateau in France and would I like to go there and paint for a month and me  screaming WHAT???!! I believed her because she said something about, "I know this doesn't sound real but it is".  And it has become true. She set it all up for me. Her mother owns a Chateau with wine vineyards and an animal sanctuary. I will be painting and playing with all the French ducks, pigs, cows, sheep and so on.193

I hope to take lots and lots of pictures and post them on here when I get back. The pictures at left are from Michelle.

I have been listening to the French Ecole Podcast on Itunes for beginners. It is a magical language but I think I will wear a miniature English/French dictionary around my neck.

The Chateau I believe is about an hour outside of Bordeaux in wine country. I think the nearest town is Montcaret.

Look at the French kitty. So cute!
